Water Cooled Condensing Unit

A Water Cooled Condensing Unit is an industrial refrigeration system designed to condense high-pressure refrigerant vapor into liquid using water as the cooling medium. It is widely used in large-capacity refrigeration and process cooling applications where high efficiency, stable performance, and continuous operation are required.

This system typically consists of a compressor, water-cooled condenser, receiver, and control panel integrated into a compact unit. Heat from the refrigerant is transferred to circulating cooling water, which is then cooled further in a cooling tower, ensuring efficient heat rejection and improved system performance.

At HiTech Sales & Service, we manufacture and supply high-quality Water Cooled Condensing Units engineered for durability, energy efficiency, and reliable industrial operation under demanding conditions.

Working Principle

A Water Cooled Condensing Unit operates on the vapor compression refrigeration cycle and uses water to remove heat from the refrigerant.

1. Compression Stage

The refrigerant vapor from the evaporator enters the compressor, where it is compressed into a high-pressure, high-temperature gas.

2. Heat Rejection (Water-Cooled Condenser)

The hot refrigerant gas flows into the water-cooled condenser. Cooling water circulates through the condenser tubes and absorbs heat from the refrigerant, causing it to condense into a high-pressure liquid.

3. Heat Removal via Cooling Tower

The heated water is then sent to a cooling tower, where it releases the absorbed heat into the atmosphere and is cooled down before recirculation.

4. Liquid Storage (Receiver)

The condensed refrigerant is collected in a receiver tank to ensure a stable and continuous supply to the expansion system.

5. Expansion Process

The liquid refrigerant passes through an expansion valve, reducing its pressure and temperature before entering the evaporator.

6. Continuous Refrigeration Cycle

The refrigerant absorbs heat from the cooling application in the evaporator and returns to the compressor, repeating the cycle continuously for efficient cooling.
